We know you’ll definitely want to grab yourself some new football boots! No doubt you’ll be looking for the most expensive football boots and the best pair money can buy. But a high price tag doesn’t always equate to high quality. Luckily we’ve done the groundwork, so if you are looking for the best pair of footy boots money can buy, look no further!
The best expensive football boots 2020
Nike Mercurial Superfly 7 Elite Special Editions
Check out the current lowest price of the Nike Mercurial Superfly 7 Elite football boots on Amazon.
The elite-level Superfly aren’t exactly cheap. They clock in at around £230. But it’s the special editions that hit the top of the top price bracket, hitting £250. When you think about it, it’s kinda deep that we are willing to pay what could be a decent short stay holiday, for a pair of boots. But how can we resist when they look so good!
We aren’t selecting a specific colourway of these because Nike produced too many fire editions to choose just one. The launch colourway – orange and black was very out there but still looked unreal! Then we had M’Bappe’s signature colourway Bondi Dreams – named after Bondy where Kylian fell in love with football. We’ve also been utterly spoilt with Megan Rapinoe’s all pink paint job and don’t forget the CR7 Shuai colourway!
Should I buy Nike Mercurial Superfly 7 Elite SE
Cop or flop we hear you ask? Just because a pair of boots is expensive doesn’t mean you should buy it. That being said, the Superfly is one of the best performing boots out there at the moment. An all Flyknit upper for lockdown and a barefoot feel, combined with the most aggressive soleplate out there? You can’t go wrong with a pair of these. Even if you do have to miss the lads holiday to afford them.
Alternative boots to Nike Mercurial Superfly 7 Elite
Look, we can’t always afford to buy the most expensive boots out there. Luckily there are loads of alternatives out there! If you like the Superfly and want to knock a little bit off the price, the Vapor 13 are exactly the same minus the collar (which does nothing to improve the boots). Overall we rate them as better value for money than the Superfly. Looking to knock a bit more off? Try the Academy version of the Superfly. You’ll still get the same look but at a much more affordable price! They also perform more than capably! Tell the lads you’ll be joining them in Ibiza!
What’s next for the Nike Mercurial Superfly?
2020 is bound to bring us more expensive special editions. Keep an eye out for three that we think will really shine. Dream Speed 002 is the follow on from the recent Dream Speed 001 and are bound to be gorgeous. We will also likely get another M’Bappe special edition likely to be name Pink Panther. Plus a CR7 Safari colourway that will be a 10 throwback to his 2010 Safari pair.
Adidas Predator Mania Remake Red/Silver
Check out the current lowest price of the Adidas Predator Mania Remake football boots on Adidas.
The original Predator Mania are possibly the most recognisable and popular football boot EVER. If you’ve got an original pair of these in good condition then we salute you! And if you’re thinking of selling them you’ll make a pretty penny trust us!
Anyway, we’re here to talk about the here and now! Adidas has had a few goes at Predator Mania remakes, the first few versions were a bit iffy but these are the best yet for sure! They’re good and they need to be! They will cost you a few pennies under £300. Yeah, that’s right, £300! My Nan still gives me a pound for every goal I score. Could be a while before I can afford these. They’re the closest Adidas have come to recreating the original. Leather (synthetic leather) upper, rubber striking element, elastic for the tongue. The only thing missing is the split sole with the stripes running underneath! They’re really a great pair of boots, and for the price, they need to be!
Should I buy the Adidas Predator Mania Remake?
If money is no object then please buy these. They’re beautiful. And you’ll feel like you did when you had the originals on. Who doesn’t love a bit of nostalgia? Plus with these on you will take free-kicks like Beckham. Okay, that’s not 100% true but you can shout Beckham as you take your free kicks. And your feet will look like his even if your face doesn’t.
Alternative boots to the Adidas Predator Mania
Well, there isn’t any other levels of the remake. You can either buy the £300 version or not buy them at all! There are some alternatives that are similar-ish though. If you’re happy to wear blatant rips off then check out the Pan Patriot. They’re made by a Thai brand who copied the Mania back in 2002 and true to form they have copied them again in 2019. I guess if it ain’t broke don’t fix it? If you’re a fan of the grip the rubber element provides and wanna save on the money bomb the Mania will set off in your bank account then pick up a pair of the new Predator 20.1. They come in just under £180 and while they are collared, a low version is rumoured to be coming soon.
What’s next for the Adidas Predator Mania?
Well it’s always hard to tell as these a very special releases that are few and far between. There has been rumblings that we will see a remake of the Blue/Red/White Japan colourway sometime this year. They’ll likely come in at £300 as well so I better start scoring some goals if I am going to be able to afford them!
Adidas Nemeziz 19+ Spiderman
Check out the current lowest price of the Adidas Nemeziz 19+ Spiderman football boots on Pro Direct Soccer.
Possibly the first mainstream boot/superhero collab. It’s an amazing colourway if you ask us. Red and blue usually make for a pretty pair. Add gold accents and soleplate and they’re a thing of beauty. And they need to be a good looking pair for the price. The £280 price tag hasn’t stopped them from selling out though! Gotta be quick to get these special edition drops you know! You’ll also need a decent-sized bank balance too! The Nemeziz hasn’t always been a popular pair of boots but visually these are definitely up there!
Should I buy the Adidas Nemeziz 19+ Spiderman?
Sure, if you are buying them purely based on looks. Or if you get on with laceless boots then we can’t argue with these as a purchase! If you are unsure about laceless boots then these won’t change your mind. You just don’t get the same lockdown that you get from a pair with laces. We also aren’t sure how good the Nemeziz actually are. We were surprised by the 19.1 but think that the laces give them the edge on the 19+.
Alternative boots to the Adidas Nemeziz 19+ Spiderman
This a real tough one. There was no knockdown version and we haven’t really seen anything similar out there. Obviously, if it is just a Nemeziz you’re after there is plenty of colourways to choose from. Otherwise, since we are assuming money is no object, cop yourself an all-white pair of Nemeziz boots and get creative with some dye. There is plenty of tutorials on how to dye boots on YouTube. This way you’ll get a pair that are as personalised as they come.
What’s next for the Adidas Nemeziz?
Well there is sure to be more limited edition releases. We’re crossing our fingers for some more throwbacks similar to the hot purple Messi release. If superheroes are your thing, keep an eye out for the Adidas X Ghosted Tsubasa.
So there we have it. The top 3 most expensive football boots of 2020. Which would you cop? Is there any you think we missed? Let us know on our socials! @footybootsguru twitter.
