Kayne West’s new Yeezy Boost Wave Runner 700s have been released, and people are excited about them, really bloody excited. But you’ll have to buy a pair quickly because they’re likely to sell out just like the hugely popular boosts that have been released before these.

Is it the power of Kanye West’s designer eye? Is it that huge celebs like Kim Kardashian and Calvin Harris are fans of the footwear? Is it just that people are looking for the next big thing? Who knows but what we do know is everyone wants a pair.

So since Adidas have now launched their latest trainer across the UK, we’ve decided to answer all the questions that you might possibly have about them. We have not left a Yeezy-related stone unturned.

What are Yeezys and the Boost Wave Runner 700s?

Let’s start with the basics. Kayne West is the official designer of the Yeezys. You know the talented guy who has released some immense music over the last couple of decade. The slightly deluded guy who also wants to run for president (though having said that, if Trump has got this far then let’s not write anything off).

Kanye initially teamed up with Nike but in a switch akin to that of Tevez from United to City, he made the move to the German giants in 2013. From then on, their collaboration has really made a name for itself with Yeezy Boosts being released periodically. As for the Yeezy Boost Wave Runner 700s themselves, they are simply the latest edition of the Yeezy models.

When are the Wave Runners available to buy?

The latest Yeezys were released in the UK on Saturday 15th September 2018.

How much do the new Yeezys cost?

As with many of the latest brands to be released, fakes, replicas and older (ingenuine) versions of the same model are being sold all over the internet at extortionate prices. Around £250 is the legitimate value of the trainer, but we would recommend sticking to the official sales streams such as Adidas to buy your Yeezys to ensure they’ll be legitimate.

Can you wear Adidas’ Yeezy Boosts for sport?

Can you wear the Adidas Yeezy Boosts 700 Wave Runner shoes for sports

Yes, you can wear the Adidas Yeezy Boosts 700 Wave Runner shoes for sports

The simple answer is absolutely. The Yeezys have even been marketed in some cases as running shoes. The style and look certainly give off that vibe. As mentioned, their herringbone sole is a vital aspect of the trainer as it allows for every stride to be absorbed, meaning you can spring off from your standing foot.

Running is the ideal sport to wear these Yeezy Boosts for. Any contact sports may not be ideal as durability is lacking in the sense that they may not be able to withstand continued, heavy impact. The mesh outer panels also leave them slightly vulnerable.

Can the Yeezy Boost 700s be worn for football?

I mean, a twig can be used as a spoon, it doesn’t mean it will be effective, nor a good idea. So if you want to wear these Yeezys for a kickabout, then, by all means, do you. But we definitely do not recommend it! Just go for a nice pair of Mercurials instead.

Are the Adidas Wave Runners waterproof?

We are going to have to say no to this one. The mesh used means that they will allow some moisture to seep into the trainer. If it’s drizzling outside all is good, but don’t be going jumping in any puddles. So are they literally waterproof: no. But they can be worn in wet conditions.

So you have all the important information on the trainers, but are they even worth buying, and if so why should you buy the latest Yeezy Boosts?

Forget about brand image. Forget who the trainer’s ambassadors and endorsers are. Forget the hype that are surrounding their release. It’s all irrelevant. One of the main reasons people purchase a wearable item is how it looks, and these look the real deal.

Considering the person who designed them, they are relatively low-key; we were expecting some fur addition of some sort and maybe an appearance from a gold chain or two. I mean they are hardly inconspicuous, but they aren’t too flamboyant either. The splash of colours somehow do work really well with each other, particularly the dashes of orange. The green and brown tones remind us of a woodland area, which implies these are made for adventuring but in reality, there is probably no significant thought behind it.

Moving on to the style, the high-topped heel gives them a presence. It’s the difference between a trainer and a TRAINER. They almost breach the boundaries of a boot, with their thick and robust appearance. But hey, call them what you want, call them a sandal if you’d prefer, the Yeezy Boost 700s are damn good looking.

Features

The latest Yeezy Boosts

We’re much more used to talking about uppers on football boots not uppers on Yeezys, but still, we’ll do our best. These Adidas Boost 700s have a gray and black suede upper. It has two mesh panels on both sides of the trainer. One is green near the front, the other a light grey mesh patch further up the trainer. This allows for the foot to breathe and provide a soft texture to the outside.

Equipped with a herringbone sole, the grip the Yeezys provide is top-notch. The sole is also light and somewhat bouncy, allowing it to absorb impact and ensure whoever is fortunate enough to be wearing a pair can bounce around with what will feel like feathers on their feet.

Perhaps the most striking feature of the Yeezys, the bulbous-looking white midsole dominates its appearance. Unlike most of the football boots we are used to talking about, these Adidas shoe’s sole at its shortest reaches a third of the way up to the rim, where at its tallest it reaches halfway up. Why is this significant you ask? Because it provides absolute stability and balance.

Value for money

Beautiful Boosts

Look, we can’t stand here and call ourselves independent, non-bias reviewers and say that these are great value for money, they’re not. If you’re looking for value, go to Primark. They do some nice, even better-looking trainers that cost the same as Curry Club at Wetherspoon’s. Sure, they may only last a month at best, but considering that the shelf-life of the Yeezys won’t be longer than three years, it’ll work out more economically efficient (we’ve done the maths).

What you’re getting though is a thoroughly decent trainer. If you’re looking to get a top of the range piece of footwear, this is the one to go for. If you strip the name and brand away, then it’ll still be worth paying a hefty price. And after all, why would you not want to pay that little bit extra as well to say you own a pair of these brand new Yeezys and iconic footwear?

Overall

All in all, the latest in the Yeezy line are pretty impressive. In terms of style, practicality, look, and comfort, they really do tick all of the boxes. If you are the type of person who likes the finer things in life, we really would recommend treating yourself to a pair of these beauties.
