Paul Pogba is one of the most in-demand footballers on the planet, he could sign for pretty much any club he wanted to. His ferocious shot, power on the ball and all round ability in every aspect of the game means he attracts infinite amounts of attention from Europe’s top leagues, and that attention seems to have expanded out and into the sponsorship game.
Adidas this week announced a ten-year deal with the French international, reportedly worth up to £40million. To commemorate the partnership, the German sportswear giants released personalised Pogba football boots going by the name of ‘Pogbooms’. The boots, an adaptation of the Ace 16+ Pure Control editions, are not on sale to the public. In fact, only a handful of the iconic football boots have been made… And unfortunately made for the sole use of their newest ambassador.
The boots have Pogbance, an amalgamation of the midfielder’s surname and nationality and also another name for the unique shoes, printed across the back in gold. The trademark, three Adidas stripes are across the side in the same colour. The rest of the boot has a scale-black look to it which just portrays sheer radiance. Oh, and the boot is also lace-less (because who has time to tie their boots nowadays?), which only adds to the dynamism and beauty.
I think it can be agreed, the boot is a stylish and downright sexy addition to the Adidas range. Since, though, they are unattainable for us mortals, we will have to settle for the basic Ace 16+ Pure Controls.
Adidas released the Ace 16+ in January this year. Some were sceptical over how the boots will fit the foot, due to the fact that the football boots have no laces. It is obviously tougher to get into initially, but once the boot is fitted, comfortability is if anything enhanced. The tight fit gives a light feel to the boot, which helps massively with control and accuracy. What’s more, pros have commented that the absence of laces nullifies the negative impact they have on the ball when shooting.
Arsenal’s star German playmaker, Mezut Ozil, currently wears the new Adidas boots along with Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakotic.
As you can expect, as a new and top of the range boot, the Ace 16+ Pure Control are not cheap. $300 is around the amount you’ll have to fork out to wear these sharp-looking boots. So unless you’re Paul Pogba, you better get saving!
