We absolutely love the Nike Phantom GX football boots! Something about the simplicity of their look – with the black and white colourway and trademark gold tick on the side – reminds us of the Total90 Nike boots we saw back in the day. But don’t be fooled, these boots are far from simple!
A beautiful Gripknit upper subtly layers the top outer part of the boots and gives them a boot-to-foot feel. This allows for precise and enhanced control as the sticky material provides enhanced grip. Regardless of whether or not it’s wet or dry, you’ll find the ball glued (metaphorically – we don’t want to get done for false advertising!) to your feet.
The Nike 360 Cyclone pattern on the sole of the boots gives absolute traction. Its unique stud configuration is designed to optimise traction, while still allowing for free movement. Do you know those pitches, and let’s face it if you play Sunday league, you’ll know those pitches, where you try to turn but your boots just don’t give you the stability? That’s just not an issue with these Phantom GX boots and that is possibly the thing we loved most about them.
Nike really worked on the fit of the boot with these as well. They’ve intentionally moved the laces to allow for greater adjustability in the middle of the foot, tailored for players with both higher arches or flatter feet equally.
Phantom GX Football Boots – Final Verdict
All in all, we absolutely loved these boots. It’s no wonder Haaland himself has chose them to grace his magical feet. If you’re a striker, these Phantom GXs will definitely help with your control and your striking of the ball. If a player with 35+ goals in his debut Premier League is wearing them, they can’t be too bad.

Yes – In 2023, Nike released Erling Haaland Phantom GX signature boots.
These were the first, of what we’re sure are going to be many, signature boots for the Norweigen. In a light green and yellow colourway, these beauties look the business, but also do the job on the pitch.
His signature boots have ‘Erling’ embroidered on the heel of the left boot, and ‘Haaland’ embroidered on the right. The Norweigen flag is also labelled across the back-side of the boots, with ‘Braut Haaland’ (Braut his middle name) printed in small letters.
The boots, which were handcrafted in Nike’s Montebelluna factory in Italy, combine different features of all the boots the striker has previously worn. They were released to celebrate City’s treble-winning season, in which Haaland played an instrumental role.

However, and it’s a big however, they’re only available in size 9.5 (UK). Why is this? Well, to be honest we’re not entirely sure. But given that Haaland’s foot size is 9.5, it’s perhaps Nike paying homage to their star striker. For the record, we did double check that fact and it’s true. Erling Haaland does actually only have size 9.5 feet, despite being a Herculian beast of a man.
